The counselor role
is to arrange and coordinate the care of patient needs for a caseload of 12 patients in a
chemical dependency intensive residential treatment program. Counselors are
trained in facilitating evidence-based practice groups and individual
counseling sessions as well as in supervising patient self-administration of
CASAC or provisional QHP in a field related to chemical dependency treatment.
Preferred degree in human services field.
Prior experience working with Chemical Dependency
patients and/or experience working in a residential setting preferred. Experience
working in and adhering to OASAS licensed 819 or 820 residential program
regulations is a plus.
candidate should be knowledgeable of DSM V diagnostic criteria of Alcohol and
Substance use disorders and demonstrate therapeutic skills used to formulate a
diagnostic impression of a patient and treatment plan to address the themes of
candidate will have an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage
crises by making decisions consistent with the agency?s policies and vision.
candidate will have strong collaborative abilities that enhance the work of the
multi-disciplinary team and document all interventions in accordance with
policies and regulations.
Knowledge of level of care determination using the LOCADTR is
preferred. Familiarity with community resources for social support
and continuity of care is preferred.
Passion in coordinating
off-site events and recreation for our patients is a plus!
counselor provides support in maintaining and promoting patient safety,
facilitates group and individual counseling sessions, completes clinical
documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements, and supervises
patient self-administration of medication.
House conducts as needed, job-related background checks, fingerprints, drug
testing, physical exams, medical exams, TB testing, verification of employment
history and/or reference checks prior to employment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
