The Assistant Shift Engineer, working under the general supervision of the Shift Supervisor and the direction of the Shift Engineer (Control Room Operator), is responsible for but not limited to the operation and inspection of various systems and equipment as assigned. Under normal operating conditions, his/her assigned areas include high pressure refuse fired boilers and associated systems such as fans, pumps, air pollution control equipment, steam turbine/generator, and switchgear.

The duties of the Assistant Shift Engineer include the safe and efficient operation of his/her assigned equipment in accordance with the established plant operating procedures. Duties include monitoring furnace condition for bed depth, proper burn out, clinker?formations, and the proper operation of feeders.? He/she is responsible for recording data, reporting equipment malfunctions or trends, which may indicate potential trouble, and performing actions as directed to correct abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations.? Indivicual will be responsible for the administration of the Lock Out/ Tag Out program in the field.?? The Assistant Shift Engineer will isolate systems, hang and verify locks in the field.

Position Requirements
Qualified candidate must have a minimum of 3 year power, industrial plant, Navy or maritime experience along with good oral and written communication skills. The ability to stay alert while standing or sitting for long periods of time, the ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, schematics, vendor publications, problem solving & decision making skills are a requirement. The candidate must possess the ability to work in close quarters and confined spaces, climb ladders and structures, tolerate heights and high temperatures. A valid Driver?s license and the ability to lift 50 pounds is a requirement. Prior experience in a technical field or equivalent experience is a plus. The candidate will be required to attend and pass the 40 hour EPA course, 24 hours of plant specific safety training as well as forklift, man-lift and skid steer safety training within six months.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
