CAD Drafter

This is a full-time position with Direct Energy Solar. As such, the role has a competitive base salary, bonus program linked to performance, health care benefits, and the ability to advance quickly in a rapidly growing company.

System Designers measure system locations, complete estimates of solar exposure, and perform shade analyses of system locations. Design will be completed through a combination of field work and computer modeling. This job requires local travel and getting on roof tops -- candidates must not be afraid of heights -- as well as visiting system locations, taking roof top measurements, solar trajectory, shading and learning to use solar equipment (Suneye). Extensive and ongoing training will be provided by the company.
System Designers will work primarily throughout Long Island. Once trained, System Designers are able to work remotely.
Qualifications:
oAssociates or Bachelor's degree conferred or in progress in one of the following areas: Architecture/Drafting, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related major
o Google Sketchup experience, or related drafting or 3d modeling applications (include samples of your work along with your resume)
o Excellent computer skills
o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
o Efficient time management - must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and independently, including prioritizing, organizing, and planning effectively to meet all deadlines
o Valid driver's license - company vehicle will be provided for travel to job sites, but applicants should have their own vehicle for travel to/from office
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
